South Carolina Region of the Sports Car Cub of America

Kershaw , SC. – The South Carolina Region of the Sports Car Cub of America hosted the final South East Division National Championship series race today at the 2.2 mile, 14 turn Carolina Motorsports Park road course. The father/son Davis team of Brad Davis in Showroom Stock C and Robbie Davis in Showroom Stock B both dominated their races and finished the season in style with two class wins. Robbie’s class win locked up his title as the 2008 SSB South East Division Champion. Rob won the Championship in the same 2005 MINI Cooper S that his Dad won the SSC SEDiv Championship in 2006. “I want to say a big thank you to MINI USA, MINI of Charleston , Carbotech and Hoosier for the great support this season and the quality products that let us win the Division Championship. When you take a street car in basically stock form and ask it to do what we require to win races, it is a tribute to our great sponsor’s products” said Davis . The one race winner takes all National Championship Runoffs will be in Topeka Kansas in October. Unfortunately Robbie’s work schedule with a marketing company that represents the Sprint Racing Experience currently will not allow him the opportunity to fight for a podium position in this prestigious event. “I really hate to think we’ll miss the Runoffs with Rob having such a great chance this season to win ‘the big one”, but since this is amateur racing, work and career priorities come first. I’m proud he has learned this important lesson and we’ll be back another year” said fellow driver, team manager and proud father Brad Davis. Robbie’s 6 victories and a great showing in the 12 Hours at the Point race have really gotten him the national recognition he deserves. Thanks would be too small a word for the support we’ve gotten from our crew chief Rick Butler who has kept us mechanically on track all season.”

The team will be taking some well deserved racing time off and begin preparing for the January start of the 2009 season. Brad will be changing classes and is preparing a 2002 MINI Cooper for the H Production class and Robbie will be sticking with the 2005 MINI Cooper S.
